A soldier is an individual who sees death and walks into it with so much bravery that makes death contemplate taking the life of this brave man, filled with so much urge to bring down any obstacle standing in its way. An individual with an undying spirit to live, fighting for his nation, family, self and team in slime and mud.
He keeps fervent communication with the creator. He exercises every morning just to keep fit and alert, he looks clean always with a shaved face and stares at the pictures of his wife and children, hoping to hold them in his arms once again with a faith, small as a mustard seed.
A machine trained in disguise to kill, that’s what he is. Defending the nation and her residence at the battlefield, obeying orders from superiors, taking cover, being loyal to their comrades even in time of death. He puts everything he has after the mission because the mission comes first. How sweet he is to lay down his life, that he forgets that blood flows in his veins, so human but acts like a small god with so much integrity, respect, honor, courage and duty to himself and the nation.
His mind filled with sacrifice and strategies – successful and failed, that sometimes changes the fate he has in his cause, making him vulnerable to attacks from his enemies but still fights for his cause and the thought of his nation and family. During battle, he is gripped with fear in a world were killing for survival is the only way out, the environs filled with blood, dead men, loud gunshots with bullets coming in from different directions and land mines buried all over the ground.
He saves the life of his fellow comrades from the hands of the enemies, never leaves an injured mate behind, gives every mate an honorable burial ceremony even on the battlefield. The strongest weapon of a soldier is loyalty, courage and respect, it makes him the best team maker ever and helps him face any challenges that comes his way.
We at home front, fight with you in spirit, commit your lives into the hands of the creator. We hope to see you return to us in one piece. We love you and can’t wait to have you back at home.

Does your Heart have a Place for Yourself?

TheHappyBlog24

While I was scrolling through my Facebook feed, I found this image. Such a beautifully written piece of work about how every single human must find a place for themselves in their hearts!

It’s about time all of us realize the beauty within ourselves. Not only realize, but also cherish it! Regardless of how many people are trying to put you down, step forward and rise. Look above the haze and show them that your love for yourself cannot be injured by them.

So keep loving yourself, and I promise you’ll have a billion candles on your cake. ❤

Taking a step closer by AGE

Taking a step closer to tomorrow
Threading past the mill of life
What spurned my fancy a minute ago?
Tastes as vinegar?
Gulped underneath the scorching heat of the sun

Taking a step closer to tomorrow
Threading past the mill of life
What spurned my fancy a minute ago?
Tastes as vinegar?
Gulped underneath the scorching heat of the sun
So I searched far and wide
Thick and thin
To be crowned as knight
With treasure worth so much
Value not to the limited and big forth
The panacea of my doubting companion
I have found it
Rings the bells of freedom
Thunderously bellowing
This witness to those around
I have found it
In the wondrous cross
Where blood and tears bath the savior
As it crept into the foundation within
Piercing through the abyss
To set the captives free
Seems my heart is finally joyful
As it leaps about
Shaking its trinkets
With fruits ripe with victory
My quest is over.

self-esteem

Self esteem is a feeling of your capabilities and limitations. It is how much a person values himself or herself. It develops from infancy and goes until adulthood. It changes from day to day.

Self esteem could be healthy(high) or unhealthy(low). An individual with a healthy self esteem knows his weaknesses and strength. He is optimistic, feels good about himself, enjoys life and interacts with others freely. On the other hand, an individual with an unhealthy self esteem is always anxious, frustrated and thinks poorly about himself.

Some factors that shapes an individual’s self esteem ranges from their thoughts and perspectives, experiences at home, school, workplace, how other people react to them, illnesses, disabilities, culture and religion, to name a few.

Our level of self esteem has a profound impact on every aspect of our life, from how much professional success we enjoy, to whom we are likely to fall in love with.

Healthy self esteem correlates with rationality, realism, intuitiveness, independence, ability to cope with change and a willingness to accept mistakes, correct and learn from them. Unhealthy self esteem correlates with irrationality, fear of new and unfamiliar development, blindness to reality and defensiveness.

An individual with a low self esteem can improve it by reflecting on what he likes about himself, accepting who he is, identifying what changes can be made to make him feel good about himself, focusing on his achievements as well as making future plans.

A high self esteem helps an individual achieve laid down goals easily, allows you take charge of your life, helps you visualize your strength and weaknesses. This can be maintained by appreciating every aspect of your life – good, bad and the ugly, prove your negative thoughts wrong, knowing who you really are and what you want, Keep positive and beneficial relationships.

In as much as having a healthy self esteem is vital in our every day life, certain precautions need to be taken, In cases of “extra” healthy self esteem, as it is sometimes associated with pride because the individual tends to think too highly of himself. As the saying goes “Too much of everything is bad”.

It is therefore advisable to be grateful for your life and be ready to receive the best that the universe has to offer you and at the same time, believe in yourself because the less confidence you have in yourself, the faster you will give up trying to get what you want.

But if the spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal bodies by His spirit that dwells in you. Romans 8 vs 11

She left me hanging by Samuel Kwarus

What a beautiful morning!

The sun rays peeking out from the clouds to brighten my room

I woke up to find my self alone in bed

Could this be another surprise from her?

Where has my queen gone?

What could have happened to her?

Oh, she left a note on the table

I least expected it

She left me hanging, so heartbreaking

After opening my soul

Letting her into my thoughts and hopes

All she could do

Was to shatter my world,

Making me feel like a King without a Kingdom.

Thoughts of her leaving me

Ended my beautiful day

Like a car engine brought to a stop,

Why did she leave?

Perhaps she was faking it all along

She left me hanging

Without considering how heart broken I’ll be.
